Client Problem

The client faced significant challenges in their existing knowledge management system, which hindered effective information sharing and collaboration across the organization. Learning Managers struggled with an outdated and inefficient content architecture that led to duplicated efforts, difficulty in accessing relevant information, and overall poor user experience. The lack of a structured approach to managing and updating the knowledge base resulted in gaps in content and inconsistencies, which directly impacted the productivity and decision-making capabilities within the company.

The Solution

To address these challenges, we developed a comprehensive Content Architecture training program tailored specifically for Learning Managers. The training introduced advanced methodologies for structuring and managing content efficiently using a Knowledge Base system. Through engaging assets like the Content Architecture Labyrinth and the Template Treasure Hunt, the course provided practical, hands-on experiences in identifying and applying effective content management strategies.

Knowledge Management City Quest

A dynamic, interactive exercise where learners participate in a Knowledge Base Template Quest.

Learners step into the role of an “architect” tasked with developing a new city. Each key landmark in the city’s design represents a different Knowledge Management template. As learners progress through the quest, they encounter these landmarks and are introduced to essential template tips, preparing them for the challenges ahead.

After absorbing the scenario, learners are presented with multiple-choice questions that test their ability to select the correct Knowledge Management template for uploading content as a Learning Manager.

Each correct selection aids in constructing a new landmark within the cityscape. Successfully navigating these scenarios allows participants to progressively build their city, with each correct answer contributing to the grand reveal of the city’s final prize: the key to the city. This engaging activity not only solidifies the learners’ understanding of Knowledge Management templates but also makes the learning process interactive and rewarding.
