I collaborated on a specialized training initiative designed for laboratory technicians in the healthcare diagnostics industry.
This specialized training was centered on the effective use of diagnostic tools for identifying Legionella and Streptococcus Pneumoniae infections, enhancing their proficiency and accuracy in diagnostic procedures.
As the instructional designer, I was responsible for writing all storyboards. I collaborated closely with the development team to create interactive assets in Storyline, ensuring each module reinforced key diagnostic procedures and allowed technicians to practice and verify their skills accurately
Project scope:
Instructional Design, Design Docs, Storyboards, QA Assets from Development
Tools Used:
Articulate Storyline
Client Problem
The client’s existing user manual was lengthy and complex, making it challenging for technicians to grasp the proper usage of the instrument and correctly perform diagnostic tests.
The Solution
I transformed the client’s user manual into bite-sized learning modules. These modules were designed to deliver concise, focused information, making it easier for technicians to understand the instrument’s functionality and perform diagnostic tests accurately. By breaking down the content into manageable segments, the learning modules enhanced comprehension, retention, and overall user proficiency.
Final Developed Assets
The final assets included:
Eight bite-sized eLearning modules built in Storyline
Two final assessments: one for admin users and one for lab technicians
